Rob Bennett
Born in 1949 in South Africa. Studied psychology and anthropology at Witwatersrand University, Johannesburg. Learned hatha yoga, meditation, vedanta and tantra in India and England. Body-psychotherapy training with Gerda Boyesen and David Boadella in London and Berlin. Worked as a group leader and individual body-psychotherapist in Esalen Institute, Big Sur, California and Der Johanneshof in the Black Forest. Student of Karlfried Graf von Dürckheim in Rütte, Black Forest.
Contact improvisation with Steve Paxton, Pete Brooks and Linda Hartley in London. Initiated as a sangoma (traditional healer) in South Africa. Lived in Sufi centre Beshara (Reshad Feild) in Gloucestershire, England.
Presently in private practice as individual, group and couples therapist and yoga teacher in Berlin. Trance workshops at congresses, parties and seminars. Special field of interest is the connection between healing, therapy, shamanism (particularly trance states and research into consciousness), spirituality and creativity.
Musician, composer and producer with a small private recording studio. Techno DJ in clubs and at festivals.
